The 2017 All-Electric Chevy Volt EV is impressive in more ways than one. While the concept of never having to stop for gas again seems crazy, the Bolt EV makes it a reality. For starters, it is offering an estimated more than 200 miles of range1 per charge, so whether you’re on your daily commute down Lake Shore Drive or just running errands to Mariano’s, the Bolt EV can take you more than the distance. Keeping it at full-charge is easy with the available 240V charging outlet (professional installation required). It provides more power, and can charge your Bolt EV faster. There is even standard Location-Based Charging so you can easily customize your charge settings when you’re at home. It provides an average of 25 miles of range per hour it is plugged in, and will reach full-charge in about nine hours2.
To be such an innovative vehicle, the 2017 all-electric Chevy Bolt EV coming soon in Chicago, IL, uses a nickel-rich lithium-ion battery. It provides such an extraordinary mile range by using battery chemistry, which improves heat resistance, while also having a liquid cooling system to control its temperature when the Midwest outside climate varies. Additionally, the battery pack has an energy capacity of 60 kWh, which is what allows you to have such a long mile range. And thanks to the location of the battery pack, the Bolt EV not only has a low center of gravity, but it also won’t use up valuable interior cargo space.
On the inside, the 2017 All-Electric Bolt EV helps you stay aware of how much energy you are using by showing you the battery level, range estimation, charge settings, and climate controls all on the standard 10.2-inch touchscreen display, or on the 8-inch driver cluster display. In addition to showing you split screen views for an organized readout of your music and contacts, the touchscreen also provides smartphone integration in the form of Apple CarPlay™3 and Android Auto™3. Just plug in your smartphone using the USB port4, and you’ll be able to use a variety of apps directly on the display. The Bolt EV will also have a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi5 connection, making it a hotspot on wheels.
To keep you protected on the road, the Chevrolet Bolt EV holds nothing back in terms of the latest safety advancements6. With the Surround Vision monitor, you will be able to see a bird’s-eye view around the vehicle, helping you to park on the crowded streets of downtown. Take visibility further is the Rear Camera Mirror, showing you a wide-angle view of the area behind you directly on the rearview mirror. The Bolt EV will also have features like Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert, 10 air bags7, and OnStar® Automatic Crash Response8.
